First Pitch at Target Field
Outdoor baseball officially began in Minneapolis on a glorious Monday afternoon at 3:13. While the time is a part of the poster's caption, it's also clearly visible on a digital clock in center field thanks to the perfect clarity of a print that captures the first pitch at Target Field, along with everything else inside of the glistening ballpark at the moment of its baptism. That includes the supersized logo of Minnie and Paul and the evergreen trees in the hitter's background beneath it, plus the Twins logo-topped 101-foot wide scoreboard in left-center, where a smiling mug shot of Marco Scutaro is on high-definition display while the Red Sox shortstop can be seen taking the game's first pitch, thrown by Minnesota's Carl Pavano, as the ball streaks past him and into the glove of a true Minnesotan - St. Paul-born Joe Mauer.

Inaugural Game at Target Field
The pomp and circumstance that preceded the Twins' first official game in their new open-air ballpark is captured in this panorama of the $545 million beauty that was taken on its Opening Day during the National Anthem. In rich color and vivid detail, you can see what 39,715 fans saw about 20 minutes before the inaugural regular season game at Target Field would begin. And there was a lot to see. While a giant American flag was unfurled across the pristine green portion of the playing field's outfield and the Mankato limestone wall in the left field corner shined in the sun, the gazes of most in attendance were skyward as four F-16 fighter jets flew over the partly cloudy Minneapolis sky. Meanwhile, players for both teams were lined up and down the basepaths, with the Twins standing along the first baseline in the 1961 throwback jerseys they wore to mark the 50th anniversary of the team's first season in Minnesota. Back then, they played outdoors in nearby Bloomington in a stadium that was shared with the Vikings, who would remain their co-tenant when both teams moved into the Metrodome in 1982. Finally, after 49 seasons the Twins had a home of their own and were no longer in a dome, a feat they celebrated on April 12, 2010 by beating the visiting Boston Red Sox 5-2, which prompted Minnesota center fielder Denard Span to say, "All around, a perfect day for everybody." And this is the perfect print to remember that day and the place where the Twins now play.
