Few ballparks were as beloved as Tiger Stadium and this vibrant giclée print from renowned sports artist Al Sorenson captures the ballpark as it appeared in 1961, the first year it was officially known as Tiger Stadium.
Exactingly reproduced from the artist's original acrylic painting, in rich detail you have a view of the stadium's edifice as seen from the famed corner of Michigan and Trumbull. That view also includes the hulking steel framed light towers for which the stadium was noted.
From the game day garb worn by the fans of yesteryear to the vintage automobiles parked curbside, this giclée of Tiger Stadium shows it in an era in which baseball was unquestionably our national pastime.

What is a Giclée print?
A giclée is a fine art print made from a digital source using a specialized ink-jet printer capable of producing incredibly detailed prints. Superior to traditional lithographs, giclée prints have all the tonalities and hues of the original painting and no visible dot screen patterns. Made using archival quality inks, the giclée printing process allows for better color accuracy than other means of fine art reproduction. Because their colors are vibrant and details so crisp, giclées are now commonly found in museums and galleries as they are often indistinguishable from the original painting. The giclée of Tiger Stadium is printed on canvas, which will not crease and is more durable than traditional fine art paper.
