First Playoff Game at PNC Park
Finally! After 1,051 regular season games, PNC Park was ready for baseball's prime time -- the playoffs -- in 2013, when the Pirates became the first home team to ever win a wild card game, doing so over the Cincinnati Reds on the first night in October in the first ever postseason game in Pittsburgh's current ballpark. That inaugural playoff game and the ballpark that hosted it are on vivid display in this print, which was taken in the top of the 7th inning as the Pirates' Francisco Liriano was throwing a pitch to the Reds' Zack Cozart. The focus of the photo is so good that you can actually see the ball streaking towards home plate. Such clarity means you can also read the fine print details on the left field scoreboard and pick out the lit up names atop the buildings (like UPMC, K&L Gates, Highmark) that make up the across-the-river Pittsburgh skyline. But a special night of baseball is the true focus of this poster and because of it, under solid black skies in front of a mostly black-clad crowd, the most buzzworthy night in PNC Park history is preserved in a panorama that proves, at last, the Bucs and their backers are back!

First Pitch at PNC Park
PNC Park has been widely regarded as the best ballpark in baseball ever since its first pitch, which is the subject of this panoramic poster. That pitch was thrown by the Pirates' Todd Ritchie to Cincinnati's Barry Larkin at precisely 1:38 on an overcast Monday afternoon in front of a sold out crowd and the Pittsburgh skyline. The clarity of this poster is amazing -- you can see the ball in mid-flight, read the ads on the outfield wall (Budweiser, Heinz, 84 Lumber), and enjoy the stunning views the ballpark is renowned for, as the city's skyline and Robert Clemente Bridge are in perfect focus. The date April 9, 2001 marked the beginning of a new era in Pirates baseball and this poster is a lasting legacy to PNC Park's inaugural Opening Day.
