Ernie Banks in front of Wrigley Field photo Ernie Banks was a happy man long before he was enshrined in Cooperstown. But he sure was happy to get the call from the Hall in 1977.

In this photo Mr. Cub is jumping for joy in front of the home of the Cubs, Wrigley Field, after learning he would be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

This vintage black and white photo comes double matted in a classy black frame and includes an engraved nameplate that pays tribute to the Chicago Cubs icon.

Ernie Banks # 14
"Mr. Cub"

Cubs’ great, Ernie Banks is seen celebrating his election into the Baseball Hall of Fame class of 1977 in front of Wrigley Field. Banks coined the phrase, “Let's play two,” expressing his wish to play a double-header every day out of his pure love for the game. On August 22, 1982, Ernie’s #14 became the first retired number in franchise history. To this day, Ernie Banks remains the most beloved Cub of all time.
